Job summary

The Salvation Army in Monroe, MI is seeking a Site Administrator assistant for the medical department, providing hands-on nursing support while maintaining clinical responsibilities in detoxification settings.

Responsibilities include coordinating admissions, screenings, and medical documentation, managing schedules, training staff, and ensuring accurate record-keeping and patient stability under Harbor Light protocols.

Qualifications

  • Must have and maintain a current PN or RN license.
  • Experience in substance abuse preferred.

  • Conduct staff training for new medical employees and notify changes in procedures
  • Prepare order and inventory of medical supplies with assistance of medical staff
  • Take action to ensure client medical stability and facilitate emergency assistance per Harbor Light protocol
  • Assist Medical Director, PA, and/or designate in medical services
  • Ensure all records, charts, logs and pertinent data are maintained daily

Job description

Summary: Assist the Site Administrator with the day-to-day operations of the medical department, while still serving in the medical healthcare provider role.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage all inquiries with regards to information, referral, and/or possible admission
  • Conduct pre-admission screenings of potential clients for detoxification services
  • Schedule detoxification admissions/discharges to detoxification and residential programs, including completion of all required medical documents
  • Verification that medical charts have been closed properly
  • Provide coverage for call‑offs and no shows
  • Create monthly medical staff schedule
  • Schedule monthly team meeting with the Physician’s Assistant and/or Medical Director
  • Conduct staff training for new medical employees and notify current employees of any changes in day‑to‑day procedures
  • Prepare order and inventory of medical supplies with assistance of medical staff
  • Take appropriate action as directed by Medical Director to ensure client medical stability and, in cases of emergency, facilitate assistance per Harbor Light protocol
  • Assist Medical Director, Physician’s Assistant, and/or designate in the provision of medical services
  • Ensure all records, charts, logs and all other pertinent data for the medical unit are maintained on a daily basis

Qualifications:

  • Must have and maintain a current valid Practical Nurse (PN) or Registered Nurse (RN) license.
  • Experience in substance abuse preferred.
