Job summary

Riverview Regional Medical Center, Gadsden, AL is seeking a dedicated Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse for a full-time day shift. You will perform comprehensive patient assessments, monitor vitals, administer medications, and collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure high-quality care.

New grads are welcomed and will receive support and learning opportunities. Active RN license, BLS, ACLS within 30 days, and acute care or ventilator experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Current and valid state RN license.
• Current BLS certificate on hire and maintained.
• Current ACLS certificate within 30 days of hire and maintained (preferred).
• Previous acute care hospital experience preferred.
• Ventilator management experience preferred.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough initial assessments and ongoing evaluations of patients' physical, emotional, and mental health.
• Monitor vital signs, intake/output, and other clinical indicators; detect changes in patient condition.
• Recognize and act on warning signs of deterioration (heart rate, respiratory rate, mental status).
• Safely administer prescribed medications (oral, IV, subcutaneous, intramuscular).
• Act as liaison between patients, families, and healthcare team to ensure needs are met.
• Provide patient education on condition, treatment options, and lifestyle adjustments to support recovery.
• Communicate with doctors, specialists, therapists, and social workers to adjust care plans.
• Epic computer charting implemented; new grads welcome.

Qualifications

Before we go any further, we do have some deal-breakers. You must have:

• Current and valid state RN License.
• Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current.
• Current ACLS certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current preferred.
• Previous Acute Care hospital experience preferred.
• Ventilator Management experience preferred.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
