Job summary

Prime Healthcare in Riverview Regional Medical Center – Gadsden, AL seeks a Medical-Surgical Nursing Assistant (Certified or Non-Certified) for the Medical-Surgical Acute Unit 5. The role involves providing basic patient care, monitoring vital signs, and supporting mobility for adults on heart monitors during 12-hour night shifts (7p–7a).

Entry-level NAs or CNAs are welcome to apply if non-licensed or lacking experience.

Qualifications

• Current BLS (AHA) within 30 days of hire and maintain current
• Possesses knowledge of Medical Terminology
• Current Behavioral Violence Prevention (BVP) certificate or within 6 months of hire and maintain current
• Minimum six months previous experience in an acute care hospital or physicians office, preferred

Responsibilities

• Basic patient care: assist with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and eating
• Vital signs monitoring: take and record blood pressure, heart rate, temperature, respiratory rate, and oxygen saturation
• Mobility assistance: help patients get in and out of bed, walk, or use assistive devices
• EKG lead maintenance: ensure telemetry monitors are connected and functioning and alert nurses if alarms occur
• Observation: monitor patients for changes and notify the nursing staff promptly

We are seeking aMedical-Surgical Nursing Assistant (Certified or Non-Certified), also referred to as a Med-Surg Tele Nursing Assistant. The Med-Surg/Tele Nursing Assistant provides basic patient care,monitoringvital signs, supporting mobility, and ensuring patient safety for adults recovering from surgeries or illnesses while on heart monitors. They play a critical role inobservingpatients, reporting changes, andmaintaininga safe, supportive environment to promote recovery.
