Job summary

Prime Healthcare at Riverview Regional Medical Center in Gadsden, AL seeks an Orthopedic Registered Nurse for night shifts (7:00 PM–7:00 AM). This full-time role includes a $20,000 sign-on bonus for qualified candidates and comprehensive benefits.

Responsibilities include patient assessments, monitoring, medication administration, and collaboration with the care team to support recovery and prevent readmission. New grads welcome.

Qualifications

• Current and valid state RN License.
• Current BLS certification at hire.
• ACLS certification within 30 days of hire preferred.
• BSN degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct initial assessments and ongoing evaluations of patients’ physical, emotional, and mental health.
• Monitor vital signs and intake/output; detect changes in patient conditions.
• Recognize and act on signs of deterioration.
• Safely administer prescribed medications and monitor for adverse effects.
• Act as liaison between patients, families, and the healthcare team to ensure needs are met.
• Provide patient education on condition, treatment options, and recovery.
• Communicate with doctors, specialists, therapists, and social workers to adjust care plans.

Hours: 7:00PM - 7:00AM ($4 - $8 shift differential)

Location: Riverview Regional Medical Center, Gadsden, AL

We are seeking a Orthopedic Registered Nurseat Riverview Regional Medical Center, a member of Prime Healthcare in Gadsden, AL. These Registered Nurses (RN) play an important role in our hospital by providing comprehensive care to renal patients who are recovering from surgery, managing acute and chronic illnesses, or undergoing diagnostic procedures. Med-surg nurses are considered the backbone of hospital nursing due to the variety and volume of patients they manage. New Grads Welcome!

Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (includes, but not limited to):

• conduct thorough initial assessments and ongoing evaluations of patients’ physical, emotional, and mental health
• monitor vital signs, intake/output, and other clinical indicators to detect changes in patient conditions
• recognize and act on warning signs of deterioration, such as changes in heart rate, respiratory rate, or mental status
• safely administer prescribed medications (oral, IV, subcutaneous, intramuscular) and monitor for adverse effects or allergic reactions
• act as a liaison between patients, families, and the healthcare team to ensure the patient’s needs are met
• provide patient education on their condition, treatment options, and lifestyle adjustments to support recovery and prevent readmission.
• communicate effectively with doctors, specialists, physical therapists, and social workers to develop and adjust care plans

Qualifications

Before we go any further, we do have some deal-breakers. You must have:

• Current and valid state RN License.
• Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current

Additional Qualifications That Are a Plus:

• Current ACLS certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current preferred.
• Previous Acute Care hospital experience preferred.
• Ventilator Management experience preferred.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
