Job summary

BioLife Plasma Services in Daytona Beach is seeking a Medical Support Specialist to support plasma center operations and ensure donor safety and regulatory compliance.

You will determine donor eligibility, manage donor adverse events, review laboratory test results (SPE), and notify donors of unsuitable results, under guidance from the Center Manager and Center Physician and with BioLife Medical Affairs support.

Qualifications

• State-licensed EMT/paramedic or nursing licensure as required by the role.
• Current CPR and AED certification.
• FDA-approved BioLife Medical Support Specialist training completed.
• Two years in a clinical or hospital setting.
• Familiarity with donor screening and IV therapy basics.

Responsibilities

• Determine donor eligibility, including informed consent, medical history, and SPE review.
• Evaluate donor reactions and manage medical emergencies per SOPs.
• Refer to Center Physician or Medical Affairs when abnormal findings arise.
• Support Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for staff.
• Manage employee incidents and coordinate with EHS/occupational health.
• Act as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS and Medical Affairs.
