Job summary

Concentra, Inc is seeking a Medical Support Specialist to join our patient care team in California. The MSS will perform routine medical procedures under supervision, assist clinicians, and support front desk duties to ensure a smooth patient experience.

The role emphasizes accurate patient care, adherence to HIPAA, and efficient operational support in a fast-paced occupational health setting.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited medical assistant program with completion of an externship preferred, OR at least one year of direct patient care experience as a medical assistant.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and procedures.
• Working knowledge of occupational medicine requirements (state specific) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform DOT and non-DOT drug and alcohol testing.
• Prepare patients for physical examinations, including vital signs and ancillary testing.
• Perform rapid screening tests (influenza, strep, glucose, etc.).
• Assist providers during examinations and treatments.
• Triage and assist with procedures and injury care.
• Maintain supplies, clean rooms, and stock exam rooms.
• Handle front office duties: greet patients, check in/out, answer calls, document in systems.
• Follow HIPAA guidelines and safety rules.
