Job summary

Concentra is seeking a Medical Support Specialist to perform routine medical procedures and support in a fast-paced clinic. You will participate in testing, patient preparation, documentation, and front/back office tasks while ensuring high-quality patient care and HIPAA compliance.

The role emphasizes collaboration with clinicians, accurate record keeping, and patient-centered service within occupational medicine settings.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited medical assistant program with externship preferred.
• Or at least one year of direct patient care experience as a medical assistant.
• Or military medical specialist experience with state credentials.

Responsibilities

• Perform DOT and Non-DOT drug and alcohol testing.
• Prepare patients for physical examinations including vital signs and ancillary testing.
• Perform rapid screening tests (influenza, strep, mono, glucose).
• Assist providers during examination and treatment.
• Handle routine medical procedures and triage emergent patients.
• Assist in procedure setup, injury care, and apply dressings.
• Dispense medications and DME per clinician orders and state rules.
• Maintain equipment, supplies, and center cleanliness.
• Collaborate with center leadership on patient flow and wait times.
• Perform front/back office duties and ensure accurate documentation.
• Adhere to HIPAA and safety guidelines; attend staff meetings and training.
