Job summary

Concentra in Greensboro, NC is seeking a Medical Support Specialist to play a vital role in patient care, support clinicians, and ensure a smooth clinic flow. You will perform routine medical procedures under supervision, assist with testing, and help with front-office duties.

The ideal candidate has a vocational/technical medical assistant background or equivalent experience, strong attention to detail, and a commitment to HIPAA and high-quality patient service.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited medical assistant program with externship preferred, or at least one year of direct patient care experience as a medical assistant.
• Military medical specialist experience may meet credentials where allowed by state requirements.
• Experience with DOT/non-DOT testing and occupational medicine is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform DOT and Non-DOT drug and alcohol testing.
• Prepare patients for physical examinations and ancillary testing, including vital signs, vaccines, phlebotomy, PFTs, audiogram, and respirator fit testing.
• Perform rapid screening tests (influenza, strep, mono, glucose, etc.).
• Assist providers during examinations and treatments.
• Handle clerical front and back office duties, ensure proper documentation, and HIPAA compliance.
