Job summary

Concentra, Inc. is seeking a Medical Support Specialist to join our patient care team in Tyler, TX. You will perform routine medical procedures under clinician supervision, assist with examinations, and support front and back office tasks to ensure a smooth patient experience.

The role emphasizes accurate vitals collection, specimen handling, documentation, and compassionate, compliant patient interactions in a fast-paced setting. Training and ongoing competency development are provided.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited medical assistant program with externship preferred, OR at least 1 year of direct patient care as MA
• Knowledge of medical terminology and procedures
• State-specific occupational medicine requirements preferred

Responsibilities

• Perform DOT and Non-DOT drug and alcohol testing
• Prepare patients for physical examinations and vitals
• Administer vaccines, phlebotomy, and ancillary testing
• Assist providers during examinations and treatments
• Triage emergent patients and handle routine medical procedures
• Prepare and assist clinician with procedure setup and injury care
• Apply dressings and wound care as ordered
• Dispense medications and Durable Medical Equipment as directed
• Maintain supply levels and clean/stock exam rooms
• Document accurately and maintain HIPAA compliance
• Greet patients, check in/out, and handle front desk duties
• Notify supervisor of equipment issues and supply needs
• Support patient flow and manage wait times
• Attend staff meetings and training sessions
