Job summary

Valley Hospital Medical Center seeks a Medical Staff Coordinator to perform advanced administrative duties, reviewing appointments and privilege requests, and preparing reports for practitioners. The role requires analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently as a backup for the Medical Staff Director.

The successful candidate will have at least one year in medical staff services, familiarity with clinical pathways, and proficiency in word processing,

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum one year in medical staff services; experience in acute care, ambulatory care or managed care preferred.
• Certification in medical staff services and/or CPCS preferred; if not, CPCS must be obtained within 18 months.

Responsibilities

• Performs a broad scope of advanced administrative and clerical duties, exercising analytical skills and judgment for appointments, reappointments, status changes and privilege requests.
• Prepares reports and correspondence to practitioners; distributes documents; serves as backup for the Medical Staff Director.
