Qualifications

  • At least 1 year of customer service experience or completed an Administrative Assistant program within the last 12 months.
  • Previous healthcare or medical office experience preferred.
  • Ability to follow procedures, maintain records and ensure HIPAA compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Answer telephone calls, handle routine inquiries, and direct non-routine matters to appropriate persons.
  • Schedule patient appointments and tests, coordinating with appropriate personnel as necessary.
  • Prepare for patient visits and process post-visit documentation, including forms.
  • Maintain electronic patient charts and ensure documentation is scanned into patient records.
  • Obtain registration information, co-pays, and referrals to forward to billing.

Work Schedule
  • Monday Friday: 8:30 AM 5:00 PM
  • Every other Tuesday: 8:30 AM 6:30 PM

We are seeking new and experienced Medical Secretary to join our extraordinary team!

As a Medical Secretary you will:

  1. Answer telephone calls, handle routine inquiries, and refer non‑routine matters to appropriate persons. Obtain, complete and follow up on all necessary paperwork in an accurate and timely manner.Maintains records and ensures documentation is scanned into patient records.
  2. Schedule patient appointments and tests, coordinating with appropriate personnel as necessary. Schedule return visit appointments as appropriate assuring smooth functioning.
  3. Assist team with all facets of preparing for patient visits or processing post visit documentation.Assure completion of Consent to Treat, HIPAA and other forms as appropriate.
  4. Maintain electronic patient charts.Organize and prepare the necessary information, reports, records, charts and correspondence before the patient arrives for appointment.
  5. Obtain necessary registration information on patients, co‑pays, necessary referral forms and authorizations to forward to billing.

Work Experience

Education & Training: A high school diploma or equivalent is required.Must have either one (1) year of previous customer service experience or completed an accredited or approved Administrative Assistant program within the last 12 months

Work Orientation & Experience: Previous healthcare or medical office experience is preferred.

Skills & Abilities: Ability to:a) maintain appropriate, professional conduct and appearance at all times, follows office dress code consistently; b) complete work in an established time frame, seek appropriate tasks when primary tasks are completed or pace is slow; c) demonstrate willingness to perform other duties to assist the team effort for the benefit of the patients, physicians and fellow team members; d) communicate effectively and professionally with team members, physicians, patients, and customers; e) consistently arrive at work on time and completes all tasks or arranges for coverage before leaving for the day or lunch; f) maintain desk and business areas in a professional, neat manner-
