Job summary

Oak Street Health is seeking a Medical Scribe to join our Albuquerque clinics. You will observe patient visits in the exam room, document encounters in structured notes, and assign CPT/ICD-10 codes to support accurate documentation.

You will also help with clinical documentation improvements, records review, and administrative tasks for the care team. A health sciences degree and strong typing skills are valued.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of medical terminology and common medications.
• Prior clinical experience, including shadowing and/or volunteering.
• Prior scribe or transcription experience preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Document patient encounters in structured notes, including HPI, assessment, plan and exam.
• Assign CPT and ICD-10 codes; prepare after-visit summaries.
• Support clinical documentation improvement with records and reviews.
• Provide administrative support to the provider and care team; complete tasks.
