The Opportunity
Responsible for greeting donors at the plasma collection center and conducting registration procedures to verify donor suitability for plasma pheresis.
You will report to the Assistant Center Manager.
The Role
- Assist qualified donors in completing the screening process in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). This includes assessing health history, answering medical questions, referring donors to medical staff when needed, and performing health screenings such as blood pressure, pulse, weight, and temperature. Perform finger sticks to measure hematocrit and total protein levels.
- After appropriate training, educate new donors about therapeutic products derived from plasma, explaining the screening process, health tests, appointment system, donation fees, center policies, nutrition, and other relevant information. Ensure donor questions are answered professionally and promptly.
- Register applicants and transfer donors as per training and operational needs.
- Answer phone calls and direct callers to appropriate staff.
- Monitor donors during and after pheresis for reactions and notify staff if any occur.
- Alert the Group Leader or Supervisor about donor flow issues.
- Accurately record donor data in the electronic management system following SOPs.
- Understand policies related to hyperimmune programs if applicable.
- Maintain a clean, efficient work environment and ensure availability of supplies and forms. Follow all HSE and OSHA policies, promoting safety.
- Maintain confidentiality of all personnel, donor, and center information.
- May be cross-trained in other areas to meet business needs.
- Bilingual skills may be required to meet organizational needs.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Your skills and experience
Education
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Experience
- At least three months of experience in clerical, customer service, or healthcare-related roles, or equivalent education and experience.
- Basic math skills required.
Working Conditions

- Ability to see, speak with customers, and observe equipment operation.
- Stand and walk frequently, up to 100% of the time.
- Reach, bend, kneel, and perform manual tasks requiring dexterity.
- Occasionally lift and carry up to 25 pounds.
- Work in a fast-paced environment with interruptions.
- Exposure to chemicals, extreme temperatures, and bloodborne pathogens.
- Wear PPE as required.
- Work overtime and extended hours as needed.
