Job summary

Drh-Health-1 is seeking a Scheduling Clerk to coordinate referrals and schedule inpatient and outpatient procedures across Radiology, Interventional Radiology, Cardiology, Imaging Center, Diabetes Education, Sleep Center and Surgery.

You will maintain communication with physicians and their staff to ensure accurate demographics, proper pre-certification, and timely scheduling while supporting a positive patient experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Customer service experience required; excellent communication skills.
• Previous scheduling experience in a medical office preferred.
• Basic computer skills and familiarity with EHR systems.

Responsibilities

• Schedule patients for inpatient and outpatient procedures across Radiology, Interventional Radiology, Cardiology, Imaging Center, Diabetes Education, Sleep Center and Surgery.
• Coordinate and facilitate incoming faxed orders and ambulatory orders.
• Answer scheduling lines promptly and courteously.
• Obtain/verify patient demographics and billing information; enter into Meditech.
• Document all interactions with patients and physician offices.
• Notify financial counselors and pre-cert staff of urgent matters.
• Maintain organized pending files and follow departmental policies.
• Pre-screen patients for safety and appropriate procedure protocols.
