Job summary

Qualifications

• One year of experience in a medical environment with scheduling duties preferred.
• Medical terminology knowledge or prior Administrative Partner experience.
• Professional and courteous manners in dealing with customers.
• Appropriate and timely independent judgement and computer experience required.

Responsibilities

• Schedule surgeries, appointments and procedures at physician and customer request.
• Transcribe and scan orders and H&P notes into the electronic medical record (EMR).
• Maintain scheduling work queues and master physician listings.
• Perform patient schegistration including verification of insurance benefits and eligibility.
• Initiate medical necessity checks for surgeries, appointments and procedures.
• Assist physicians, staff and hospital personnel as needed and provide direction.
• Collaborate with departments on new procedures to ensure compliance and proper reimbursement.
• Uphold the mission, vision, values, and confidentiality obligations of Saint Francis Medical Center.
• Accept duties as assigned by management.
