Job summary

Saint Francis Healthcare System in Missouri is seeking a Centralized Scheduler to schedule surgeries, appointments and procedures at the request of physicians and customers.

You will transcribe and scan orders into the EMR, maintain scheduling queues and verify insurance benefits & eligibility. You will initiate medical necessity checks and assist physicians and staff with scheduling needs while upholding the mission and values of the system.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• One year of experience in a medical environment including scheduling duties preferred.
• Medical terminology or prior Administrative Partner experience.
• Professional and courteous manners when dealing with customers.
• Appropriate and timely independent judgment.
• Computer experience required.

Responsibilities

• Schedule surgeries, appointments and procedures as requested by physicians and customers.
• Transcribe and scan orders and H&P into the electronic medical record (EMR).
• Maintain scheduling-related work queues and master physician listing.
• Verify insurance benefits and eligibility for scheduling activity.
• Initiate medical necessity checking on surgeries, appointments and procedures.
• Support physicians and staff with routine scheduling needs and compliance.
