Job summary

UofL Health is seeking a Medical Scheduler to coordinate patient follow-ups and tests in our West Louisville Urgent Care. You will work with physicians and staff to schedule procedures, obtain pre-certifications, and communicate patient instructions with care and confidentiality.

Qualified candidates will have a high school diploma or GED and at least two years of scheduling experience in a multi-specialty clinic.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Two years scheduling experience in a multi-specialty clinic is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Schedule follow-up visits and return visits for patients.
• Obtain pre-certifications and pre-authorizations as needed.
• Schedule medical tests and procedures for patients (e.g. interventional procedures).
• Explain patient instructions for procedures.
• Call patients to schedule procedures and provide follow-up instructions.
• Utilize Allscripts, Centricity Business and paging systems; retrieve data from hospital systems.
• Maintain HIPAA confidentiality and professional conduct.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
