HCA Florida Lake City Hospital is seeking a Medical Records Specialist to support the HIM Director in managing HPF/MPF workflows, resolving unbilled accounts, and processing physician suspensions. You will act as the primary contact when the HIM Director/coordinator is unavailable.

Responsibilities include retrieving and reconciling discharged records, printing from storage, scanning and indexing documents, and assisting with birth information collection for forms.

Formación

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Hospital or medical office experience preferred, but not required.
• Completing a certification program from the state(s) may be required for birth certificate processing, training and course fees will be provided.

Responsabilidades

• Retrieves discharged medical records from various departments and reconciles them to ensure all records are accounted for.
• Facilitates retrieval and printing of medical records from storage; handles archival and retention of documents that cannot be scanned.
• Assist with the physician suspension process by evaluating if a physician should be suspended, and managing notices and reminders.
• Prepares medical records and loose documents for scanning.
• Scans and indexes medical record documents.
• Interacts with parents to collect birth information and guides completion of forms.
