HCA Houston Healthcare Southeast seeks a Medical Records Specialist to support the HIM Director with HPF/MPF workflows and record processing. You will retrieve, print, scan, index, and audit records, ensuring accurate documentation and imaging integrity.

You may interact with parents for birth information and assist with related forms. Experience in hospital or medical office settings is preferred; state certification for birth certificates may be required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Hospital or medical office experience preferred; handling of patient health information is strongly preferred.
• Certification program from the state may be required for birth certificate processing.

Responsabilités

• Retrieves discharged medical records from various departments and reconciles them.
• Facilitates retrieval and printing of records, storage, and retention of documents.
• Prepare medical records and loose documents for scanning.
• Scans medical record documents and indexes documentation.
• Interacts with parents to collect birth information and guide forms completion.
• Works with parents on Acknowledgment of Paternity forms and responsive communication.
