Job summary

Responsibilities include coordinating with multiple departments to ensure timely delivery and handling on-site mail and scanning tasks as needed.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years related experience with Health Information Management operations.
• Understands components of a medical record and retrieval of documentation in paper and electronic format.
• General knowledge of HIPAA privacy and security rules; state and federal rules related to disclosure of PHI preferred.
• Experience working with Epic clinical applications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Mails prepared records following Mass General Brigham policies and procedures and regulatory guidelines.
• Validates information in the EHR, including patient identifiers and mailing address.
• Miles with Pitney Bowes services to prepare delivery packages of medical records.
• Performs final QA checks on medical record documentation prior to mailing.
• Ensures copies of medical records are mailed within department turnaround times.
