Allegheny Health Network is seeking a skilled medical coder to review records, assign ICD-10-CM and CPT codes, and abstract data for hospital statistics. The role focuses on accurate coding and efficient cash flow management, requiring strong data entry and HIPAA compliance.

Minimum qualifications include High School diploma, coding coursework, and 1 year of coding experience in hospital or clinic settings.

Formación

• High School diploma or GED.
• Completed coding courses in anatomy, physiology and medical terminology.
• 1 year of hospital or physician coding.
• 1 year coding at mid-level facilities or clinics.
• 1 year coding major surgeries, observations and/or E/Ms.
• Medical Terminology
• Strong data entry skills
• Understanding of computer applications
• Ability to work with healthcare team
• RHIT/RHIA/CCS-P/CPC/COC/CPC-A certifications are preferred

Responsabilidades

• Reviews and interprets medical information to assign ICD-10 CM/CPT codes.
• Abstracts data elements for statistical requests and enters data into designated system.
• Manages unbilled coding report and cash flow.
• Keeps updated with ICD-10 CM/CPT guidelines via training and clinics.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
