Job summary

Allegheny Health Network is seeking a Medical Records Coder to perform thorough medical record reviews, determine ICD-10-CM/CPT codes, and abstract data for reporting. You will enter coded information into the designated system and support cash flow by managing unbilled coding reports.

Qualifications

• RHIT, RHIA, CCS-P, CPC, COC, or CPC-A certifications are preferred.
• Experience with ICD-10-CM/CPT coding guidelines is required or highly desirable.
• Strong data-entry and computer skills; ability to work with health-care teams.

Responsibilities

• Review and interpret medical information to assign ICD-10-CM/CPT codes.
• Abstract data elements for statistical requests and enter into the system.
• Manage unbilled coding reports to support cash flow.
• Stay current on ICD-10-CM/CPT updates and apply changes in daily work.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
