Qualifications

• Minimum one year of related experience in healthcare, preferably in a skilled nursing facility.
• High school diploma or equivalent; some college coursework preferred.
• Ability to handle physically demanding tasks in central supply, including lifting and stocking.
• Strong attention to detail and solid data entry skills.
• Excellent customer service for residents, families, and staff.
• Basic understanding of medical records processes and EMR learning willingness.

Responsibilities

• Manage resident health information to ensure accuracy, completeness, and HIPAA/compliance.
• Create and maintain medical records for new admissions with proper setup.
• Organize open medical records in paper and electronic formats.
• Conduct routine audits of records at admission, during stay, and discharge.
• Upload and maintain documentation within the EMR system.
• Process medical record requests per facility policies and confidentiality.
• Maintain closed records per retention guidelines.
• Respond to inquiries about medical records professionally and timely.
• Assist central supply operations—receiving, organizing, and distributing supplies.
• Monitor supply usage and maintain appropriate par levels for resident care.
• Support ordering, stocking, and organization of central supply areas.
• Perform other duties to support records integrity and supply efficiency.
