Job description

A Nonprofit Community Health Center Network based in the Bay Area is seeking to hire a Medical Receptionist for their team in Oakland, California. This is a fully onsite position offering a pay range of $20/hr - $24/hr.

Position Description

This Front Desk Receptionist will work with members and patients calling in or visiting the site, providing information about services, and assisting with food and hygiene options.

Responsibilities
  1. Greet all patients and visitors warmly, ensuring positive customer interactions.
  2. Manage patient reception, including registration, check-in, and scheduling future appointments.
  3. Perform data entry, document scanning, and validation.
  4. Manage patient flow from front to back office.
  5. Prepare eligibility information for scheduled clinic patients at least two days in advance.
  6. Answer clinic phones, direct calls appropriately, and make follow-up calls.
  7. Collect visit copays and manage cash collections, including sending cash to A/P and notifying A/P if no cash has been collected.
  8. Scan documents and maintain the facility.
Skills & Qualifications
  1. Critical Thinking: Ability to look up information and transfer calls to the correct department.
  2. Customer Service: Experience working with unhoused community members or individuals with substance abuse issues, ensuring a positive experience.
Pay and Benefits

The hourly pay range is $20.00 - $24.00. Eligibility for benefits depends on job classification and employment length and may include:
