Veterinary Medical Receptionist (CSR)

If you are an experienced customer service professional looking to positively impact the lives of pets and people, joining Ocean State Veterinary Specialists (OSVS) as a Client Service Representative (CSR) offers a rewarding opportunity. Our busy veterinary emergency and specialty hospital seeks a highly organized and experienced receptionist to join our team. Candidates should have prior experience in emergency and specialty veterinary medicine and thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment. The role involves managing client inquiries and facilitating communication between our medical staff and clients to ensure smooth hospital operations.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
  1. Greet clients and their pets warmly, ensuring their comfort and satisfaction.
  2. Manage incoming calls professionally, providing information and scheduling appointments.
  3. Process client payments, maintain accurate financial records, including billing and insurance claims.
  4. Schedule appointments, record keeping, provide estimates, and handle invoices.
  5. Coordinate patient intake and discharge, ensuring proper documentation and communication.
  6. Maintain accurate medical records using our electronic system.
  7. Facilitate communication between clients and medical staff, ensuring timely responses.
  8. Keep the reception area clean and stocked with supplies.
  9. Collaborate effectively with different hospital departments.
Qualifications:
  • 1-3 years' experience in emergency or specialty veterinary hospitals preferred.
  • Professional, pleasant, and clear communicator who is respectful and attentive.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and work confidently in a high-paced setting.
  • Proficiency in Word, Excel, and operation of office equipment.
  • Knowledge of veterinary software and Care Credit is a plus.
  • Basic math skills for processing payments.
