Job description

Make a Meaningful Difference in Healthcare – Right at the Front Door

At Boulder Medical Center (BMC), we believe that excellent healthcare starts with compassionate and efficient patient access. As a patient access professional, your role in medical reception is essential in shaping the patient experience from the moment they arrive.

BMC is a physician-owned, independent medical group with five offices across Boulder, Erie, Longmont, and Louisville, Colorado. We’ve been a trusted name in healthcare since 1949.

Why Work at Boulder Medical Center?

Unlike traditional corporate practices or hospitals, physicians at Boulder Medical Center are owners. This means we offer a unique environment for reception and patient access professionals to learn and grow.

  • Physician-owned and independent: We’re locally governed, so decisions are made with our patients and staff in mind—not by a corporate board.
  • Supportive work culture: Our clinics are professional learning environments where teamwork and growth are encouraged.
  • Better work‑life balance: Enjoy paid holidays and a lower‑risk setting than hospital-based roles.
  • Diverse experiences: Because we’re a multi-specialty practice, our patient access roles offer experience in family medicine, pediatrics, dermatology, OB‑GYN, and more.
What Does a Patient Access Associate Do?

Patient access associates are more than medical receptionists. They are the face of BMC and have a profound impact on patient care and the overall success of the practice. Daily responsibilities may include:

  • Greeting and checking in patients at our clinics
  • Scheduling appointments and managing provider calendars
  • Collecting co‑pays and deductible payments
  • Verifying insurance and updating patient information
  • Supporting both patients and clinical staff with seamless communication
  • Supporting follow‑up care and communication
How We Support Patient Access Reception Teams

  • Comprehensive onboarding tailored for patient access associates
