Job summary

Northwell Health in Ridgefield, CT is seeking a Medical Practice Patient Representative to provide clerical support and coordinate patient care activities in a full-time role with Monday–Friday hours 7:00am–7:00pm. You will greet patients, verify insurance and demographics, answer phones, schedule tests and referrals, collect co-pays, and ensure accurate records in the EMR system.

Travel between practices may be required.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalent.
• Microsoft Office Suite experience preferred.
• Data entry and excellent written and verbal communication skills required.
• Minimum six months of experience.

Responsibilities

• Greets and welcomes patients upon arrival and communicates pleasantly and effectively.
• Ensures accuracy of patient information, including demographics and insurance.
• Answers phones, routes calls, takes messages, and ensures accurate communication in the EMR system.
• Registers, verifies, and schedules patient appointments, testing, and referrals.
• Schedules and reschedules appointments according to office protocols.
• Monitors applications and manages worklists as applicable.
• Collects co-pays and reconciles money for deposit.
• Obtains and coordinates record retrieval for new and established patients.
• Performs intake and processing of medical records and documentation as applicable.
• Fulfills all compliance responsibilities related to the position.
