Job summary

Allegheny Health Network seeks a medical physicist to oversee clinical aspects of medical physics in Radiation Oncology, reporting to a level II or higher physicist. Responsibilities include chart audits, QA on radiotherapy equipment, and collaboration with dosimetry and medical staff to support patient care.

Minimum qualifications include CAMPEP CAMPEP-accredited master's and residency or ABR mentorship; preferred publications; strong critical thinking and independent work.

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in Physics or related field from a CAMPEP-accredited program.
• Completion of a CAMPEP-accredited Medical Physics Residency program or ABR structured mentorship.

Responsibilities

• Audits and reviews patient medical charts. 30%
• Performs QA/QC evaluations on radiation producing machines. 20%
• Assists with special clinical research and development projects as assigned. 20%
• Ensures compliance with all regulatory agencies and standards. 10%
• Advises and provides guidance to dosimetry and therapy staff and provides consultation services to attending physicians. 10%
• Assists with the delivery of patient care for special procedures. 10%
• Other duties as assigned or requested.
