Job summary

Allegheny Health Network seeks a Medical Physicist to oversee all clinical aspects of medical physics in the Department of Radiation Oncology, reporting to a level II or higher physicist. The role emphasizes chart audits, QA/QC of radiation equipment, and supporting research initiatives within a regulated clinical setting.

Responsibilities include advising dosimetry and therapy staff, consulting with attending physicians, and assisting with special procedures.

Qualifications

• Critical thinking, decisive judgement, and the ability to work independently in challenging environments.
• Master’s degree in Physics or a related CAMPEP-accredited program is required.
• Completion of CAMPEP-accredited residency or ABR mentorship is required.

Responsibilities

• Audit and review patient charts.
• Perform QA/QC evaluations on radiation producing machines.
• Assist with clinical research and development projects.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory agencies and standards.
• Advise and provide guidance to dosimetry and therapy staff; consult with attending physicians.
• Assist with the delivery of patient care for special procedures.
• Other duties as assigned.
