Job summary

Allegheny Health Network is seeking a medical physicist to oversee all clinical aspects of medical physics in the Department of Radiation Oncology. You will supervise under a level II or higher physicist and contribute to chart audits, QA, and clinical research.

The role emphasizes regulatory compliance, guidance to dosimetry/therapy staff, and support for special procedures, with responsibilities expanding across patient care and departmental duties.

Qualifications

• Master's Degree in Physics or related field from a CAMPEP-accredited program.
• Completion of a CAMPEP-accredited Medical Physics Residency program or ABR structured mentorship.

Responsibilities

• Audits and reviews patient medical charts.
• Performs quality assurance/control evaluations on radiation producing machines.
• Assists with special clinical research and development projects as assigned.
• Ensures compliance with all regulatory agencies and standards.
• Advises and provides guidance to dosimetry and therapy staff and provides consultation services to attending physicians.
• Assists with the delivery of patient care for special procedures.
