Job summary

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program.
• Current Medical Assistant Certification by the AAMA.
• Current CPR certification preferred.
• At least 1-year of relevant medical assistant experience in a physician office.
• Broad understanding of clinical operations and physician office practice.
• Nephrology medical office or dialysis experience highly preferred.
• athenaClinicals electronic health record experience.
• Experience with PMD Soft.

Responsibilities

• Greets patients and performs check-in/check-out procedures in an accurate and timely manner.
• Answers phone calls in a timely manner, schedules appointments, and maintains clinical inboxes in athenaClinicals.
• Rooms patients and performs full intake, including vitals and vaccination history.
• Assists providers with exams and procedures and documents in athenaClinicals.
• Responsible for collecting specimens and following CLIA regulations.
• Facilitates referrals and coordinates labs/imaging as ordered.
• Communicates test results or instructions to patients per physician guidance.
• Prepares for visits and schedules reminders and labs, maintains records.
• May train other staff and perform additional duties as needed.
