Job summary

Abilene Sports Medicine and Orthopedics is seeking a part-time Medical Receptionist to support the front desk operations in Abilene, TX. You will greet patients, verify information, and manage insurance documentation in the EMR system, ensuring smooth daily operations.

The role requires 1-2 years of medical receptionist experience and experience with insurance verification, along with a High School diploma or GED.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• 1-2 years of Medical Receptionist experience.
• 1-2 years of insurance verification experience.

Responsibilities

• Greets patients and visitors in a prompt, courteous and helpful manner.
• Checks patients in and out, verifying information and updating records as needed.
• Scans patient insurance cards and documents into the EMR system.
• Collects payments, issues receipts, and posts copays to patient accounts.
• Balances charges and prepares daily deposits.
• Schedules follow-up appointments.
• Answers back line, screens calls, and shares information with patients and referring offices.
• Coordinates patient care with clinical staff and maintains a neat reception area.
• Distributes faxes and mail.
