Job description

Join to apply for the Medical Office Receptionist role at Premise Health.

Premise Health is seeking a full-time Medical Office Receptionist to work in our Health and Wellness Center located in Columbus, IN.

Schedule
  • Monday - Friday 10 am - 7 pm
  • Saturday rotation 8:00 am - 12:00 pm approximately every 4 weeks
  • Required to stand for the full shift
Essential Functions
  • Organize and maintain patient chart filing system, generate chart numbers, file, and pull charts.
  • Answer calls, respond to inquiries, direct callers, or initiate triage slips for medical response.
  • Schedule appointments and input data into the computerized scheduler.
  • Conduct reminder calls to patients.
  • Greet and direct patients, visitors, and salespeople.
  • Register patients, verify and update records, and make necessary changes in the system.
  • Coordinate referrals through insurance and other physician offices or specialists.
  • Prepare billing in the computerized system for processing.
  • Collect payments and reconcile daily cash reports.
  • Seek ways to improve quality and demonstrate accuracy and thoroughness.
  • Identify and solve problems efficiently, developing alternative solutions.
  • Maintain professionalism, demonstrate excellent interpersonal and listening skills, and treat others respectfully.
  • Follow through on commitments and provide excellent customer service, managing difficult situations appropriately.
  • Perform and maintain annual competencies and perform other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • One-year certificate from college or technical school in front office support for medical settings preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in a front desk or customer service role required.
