Job Overview

The Medical Office Receptionist greets visitors, communicates with patients and providers, and coordinates office workflow. Responsibilities include managing check-in/check-out processes, updating patient records, collecting payments, scheduling referrals and surgeries, and handling inquiries. The role requires maintaining a neat office environment and ensuring timely completion of front office tasks.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Greet visitors and communicate with patients and providers.
  2. Coordinate workflow and maintain records of office activities.
  3. Complete check-in/check-out processes and update patient information.
  4. Collect copays and outstanding balances.
  5. Schedule referrals, surgeries, and radiologic procedures, including pre/post-op appointments.
  6. Handle phone calls, messages, and information requests.
  7. Monitor office supplies and maintain a tidy workspace.
  8. Verify insurance coverage and obtain prior authorizations as needed.
  9. Perform other delegated tasks within scope of position.
Qualifications

Minimum Education: High School Diploma or equivalent (preferred).

Minimum Work Experience: Medical front office experience (preferred).

Knowledge: Medical terminology (preferred).

Skills: Critical thinking, decisive judgment, ability to work independently, and handle stressful environments.
