Job summary

Mercy Health seeks a Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) for the Core Laboratory at the Lima Medical Office Building. The MLS will perform routine tests on blood and tissue specimens, delivering quality results to physicians while maintaining patient safety and confidentiality.

Required BS in CLIA-approved program and MLS certification (or eligible). Externship preferred. Benefits include competitive pay and comprehensive coverage.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Laboratory Science, Biomedical Science, Biology or Biochemistry through a CLIA-approved program (required)
• Ability to provide quality, error-free work in a fast-paced environment
• Engage with staff and patients in a professional manner

Responsibilities

• Performs analytical tests on biological specimens following approved procedures
• Ensures specimen acceptability and recognizes abnormal results
• Performs quality control and ensures results meet established ranges
• Maintains safety and environmental standards and troubleshoots equipment
• Other duties as assigned
