Job summary

Bon Secours Mercy Health seeks a Medical Lab Scientist (MLS) at St. Charles Hospital to perform routine tests on blood and tissues, delivering accurate results for physicians while ensuring patient safety.

The ideal candidate holds a BS in a CLIA-approved program and MLS certification (or eligible). Externship is preferred. The role includes comprehensive benefits and opportunities for professional development within a faith-based health system.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Laboratory Science, Biomedical Science, Biology or Biochemistry from a CLIA-approved program.
• MLS Certification or eligible by a nationally recognized certification agency (preferably ASCP).
• Externship program completed (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Performs analytical tests on biological specimens accurately and in a timely manner per procedures.
• Determines acceptability of specimens by visual inspection and recognizing abnormal results.
• Performs quality control and ensures results meet ranges before release.
• Maintains equipment and work area, follows safety and hospital policies.
• Other duties as assigned.
