Qualifications

• Bachelor's in medical technology or related science (preferred)
• Copy of Transcript required
• Current Clinical Lab Scientist Generalist license in state of practice or within 180 days of hire
• ASCP, AMT or AAB generalist certification as Medical Laboratory Scientist/Technologist within 90 days of hire
• ASCP/AAB certifications for Academic Medical Center facility if applicable

Responsibilities

• Performs, develops and interprets routine and/or specialized laboratory testing independently within established time frames
• Performs, analyzes and records quality control and instrument maintenance/troubleshooting with appropriate corrective actions
• Adheres to regulatory compliance and accreditation standards; follows safety and proficiency testing procedures
• Participates in performance improvement by data collection and cost-reduction initiatives; manages supplies and reagents
• Adapts communication and service to the patient population and maintains patient privacy
