Qualifications

• Bachelor's in medical technology, medical laboratory science, clinical laboratory science, or chemical/physical/biological science.
• Current Clinical Lab Scientist Generalist license or trainee/Assistant license and must obtain Generalist license within 90 days.
• ASCP, AMT or AAB generalist certification required within 90 days; special provisions for Academic Medical Center facilities.

Responsibilities

• Performs, develops and interprets routine and specialized laboratory testing independently within established time frames.
• Performs quality control, instrument maintenance and troubleshooting with proper documentation.
• Adheres to regulatory and accreditation standards and maintains safety guidelines.
• Participates in performance improvement by data collection/analysis and supports cost-reduction initiatives.
• Respects patient privacy and demonstrates professional communication throughout the care process.
