Qualifications

• Bachelor's in medical technology, medical laboratory science, clinical laboratory science, or chemical/physical/biological science.
• Must have computer skills and dexterity for data entry and retrieval of patient information.
• Proficient with Windows-style applications and keyboard.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills for professional interaction across care teams.
• Good analytical and problem solving skills; demonstrates good judgement and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Performs, develops and interprets routine and/or specialized laboratory testing independently within established time frames.
• Performs, analyzes and records quality control and instrument maintenance/troubleshooting and takes action to maintain accuracy and precision.
• Escalates when results are out of control and documents corrective actions.
• Adheres to regulatory guidelines and accreditation standards; stays updated with current checklists and standards.
• Follows safety guidelines and compliance requirements; supports proficiency testing and cost reduction initiatives.
