Job summary

Patient First is seeking a Laboratory Technician to join our on-site team in Delaware County. The role focuses on specimen collection, processing, and test analyses, while maintaining meticulous quality controls and accurate records.

You will document calibration activities, manage lab supplies, and uphold safety standards in a collaborative, customer-focused environment. A strong foundation in chemistry/biology and appropriate certifications are preferred.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Minimum 60 semester hours from a regionally accredited college, including chemistry, biology and medical laboratory techniques, or an Associate degree in chemistry, biology or related science.
• Completion of clinical rotations in microbiology, urinalysis, chemistry and hematology; or military Medical Laboratory Specialist training.

Responsibilities

• Follow laboratory procedures for specimen collection, handling and processing, as well as test analyses, reporting and maintaining records of test results; follow quality control policies.
• Document all quality controls activities, instrument and procedural calibrations, and maintenance.
• Identify indicators that may impact test performance or reporting and notify Lab Supervisor if corrections are needed.
• Order, receive and distribute laboratory stock as needed in laboratory and treatment area.
• Understand all checklists and perform duties as listed on the position checklists.
• Adhere to safety policies defined by Patient First and OSHA.
• Provide positive, warm and friendly customer service in all interactions.
• Foster teamwork and a positive, professional atmosphere.
• Complete other duties as directed.
