Job summary

INDLABPHARM seeks a Medical Technologist I to perform routine and high complexity laboratory tests on blood and body fluids under minimal supervision. You will ensure accurate results by adhering to quality control protocols and maintaining instruments.

This role supports patient care through efficient testing, troubleshooting, and data collection for regulatory compliance. Phlebotomy duties may be required and teaching responsibilities may be included as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in medical technology or related field.
• Passing score on the Clinical Laboratory Technology Proficiency examination approved by HEW.
• 0-2 years of acute care experience.

Responsibilities

• Performs moderate and high complexity laboratory tests accurately and efficiently, ensuring timely reporting of results with documentation.
• Adheres to quality control procedures by performing required checks and addressing out-of-range results.
• Conducts instrument function checks and preventative maintenance.
• Troubleshoots instrument malfunctions and notifies appropriate personnel.
• Ensures all laboratory procedures comply with safety regulations and PPE usage.
• Communicates effectively with peers and supervisors about results and QC issues.
• Assists with proficiency testing and data collection for accreditation.
• Collects chain-of-custody urine drug screens and performs phlebotomy duties as needed.
• Collaborates with team to ensure shift duties are completed efficiently.
• Performs other duties as assigned and maintains attendance.
