Job summary

Patient First is seeking a Lab Technician to perform quality and rapid lab analyses, handle specimen collection, processing, and reporting. You will assist physicians and nursing staff, order supplies in the medical record system, and maintain QC documentation.

Role requires high school graduation with coursework in chemistry/biology or related lab field; military or formal technician training and 2 years of lab experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older
• Ability to communicate well verbally and in writing
• Minimum typing experience
• High school graduate with specified college coursework or degrees in chemistry/biology or medical lab science
• Alternative: one year of technician training or military Medical Laboratory Procedures course
• Two years of clinical laboratory testing experience preferred
• Proficient with laboratory instruments and data reporting

Responsibilities

• Provide quality and rapid lab results with proper procedures and safety
• Order lab, x-ray, and medical supplies in the medical record system
• Assist physicians, extenders, and nurses with patient care and triage
• Maintain quality control and document instrument calibrations
• Keep treatment areas clean and stocked; follow shift checklists
