Job summary

Bon Secours is recruiting a Medical Lab Scientist (MLS) for the St. Francis Downtown location to perform routine tests on blood, tissues, and other specimens, delivering high-quality results to physicians with strict patient safety and privacy.

The MLS will conduct analyses, ensure specimen quality, and maintain calibration and safety standards in a fast-paced clinical lab setting. Competitive benefits accompany the role and a supportive team environment is offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in one of the following: Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Laboratory Science, Biomedical Science, Biology or Biochemistry through a CLIA-approved program (required)
• MLS Certification or eligible by a nationally recognized certification agency (preferably ASCP) (required)
• Externship program completed (preferred)

Responsibilities

• Performs analytical tests on biological specimens in a timely, efficient and accurate manner per documented lab procedures
• Determines acceptability of specimens by visual inspection or by recognizing abnormal/unusual results
• Recognizes factors affecting measurements and takes appropriate action per protocols
• Performs quality control for all testing and ensures results meet established ranges
• Maintains a safe and efficient work environment by equipment checks and proper cleanup
• Other duties as assigned
