Job summary

Bon Secours seeks a Medical Lab Scientist (MLS) to perform routine laboratory tests on blood and other specimens, delivering physicians accurate results using a range of clinical lab equipment. The role requires patient safety awareness and adherence to privacy standards.

Education includes a BS in a CLIA-approved program and MLS certification or eligibility. Externship experience is preferred, with opportunities to collaborate across departments and contribute to patient care.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Laboratory Science, Biomedical Science, Biology or Biochemistry from a CLIA-approved program (required).
• MLS Certification or eligibility with ASCP or equivalent (required).
• Externship completion preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs analytical tests on biological specimens accurately and efficiently per procedures.
• Determines acceptability of specimens via visual inspection or result review.
• Recognizes factors affecting measurements and acts per protocols.
• Performs quality control and ensures results meet established ranges.
• Maintains a safe, clean work environment and oversees equipment checks.
• Other duties as assigned.
