AdventHealth in Florida is seeking a Laboratory Technician to support core lab operations, maintain equipment, and ensure accurate specimen processing. You will follow safety policies, assist with data collection, and participate in performance improvement activities.

Candidates should have an Associate degree in a laboratory science and be able to read and follow procedures in English, with strong attention to accuracy and ability to work with clinical staff.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in laboratory testing procedures and protocols.
• Ability to read, interpret and follow SOPs.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in all tasks.
• Ability to work with clinical staff and maintain patient confidentiality.
• Capable of operating basic laboratory equipment and documenting results.

Responsibilities

• Follows safety policies including PPE use, handwashing, and hazardous chemical handling.
• Participates in laboratory and hospital performance improvement activities.
• Evaluates new laboratory techniques and assists with data collection and special projects.
• Maintains laboratory equipment and spaces through cleaning and disinfection.
• Facilitates workflow and supports education to clinical staff as needed.
• Performs pre-analytical activities including equipment maintenance, inventory control, specimen collection, and processing.
• Conducts post-analytical activities related to laboratory testing and reporting.
