Job summary

AdventHealth Orlando is seeking a qualified Medical Laboratory Technician to join its dedicated team. You will perform pre-analytical activities including specimen collection and equipment checks, run and validate tests, and ensure accurate reporting in compliance with SOPs in a busy hospital laboratory.

You will collaborate with physicians and nurses to support patient care, follow safety policies, participate in proficiency testing and quality improvement activities, and mentor newer staff

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in medical laboratory science or equivalent.
2+ years of clinical lab experience (preferred).
Strong understanding of lab safety and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

Perform pre-analytical activities including specimen collection and equipment checks.
Conduct analytical testing and report results accurately per SOPs.
Participate in proficiency testing and quality improvement initiatives.
Assist with training and mentoring of staff as needed.
Maintain laboratory safety, confidentiality, and compliance with applicable laws.
