Job summary

AdventHealth is seeking a Laboratory Technician to perform pre- and post-analytical duties, ensure quality and safety, and support education for staff and students. This role involves processing specimens, reporting results, and contributing to performance improvements.

Candidates should hold a Bachelor's degree in a clinical laboratory field and have 2+ years of lab experience. This on-site position in Tampa includes comprehensive benefits and team-oriented care.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required with ABHES/CAAHEP pathway or approved equivalency.
• 2+ years of clinical lab experience preferred.
• Strong communication and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Perform pre-analytical activities: equipment checks, inventory, specimen handling.
• Perform post-analytical activities: reporting results and technical support.
• Follow SOPs and participate in proficiency testing and QA.
• Act as preceptor for new employees and students.
• Educate clinical staff and support education initiatives.
• Adhere to safety policies and PPE use; manage hazardous materials.
• Participate in performance improvement activities and data collection.
• Assist with new techniques evaluation and workflow facilitation.
