Job summary

AdventHealth in Orlando, FL, is seeking a full-time Medical Laboratory Technician to join our hospital laboratory team. You will perform pre-analytical and analytical tasks, report results, and support clinical staff as part of a high-quality lab operation.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in Medical Laboratory Science and 2+ years of clinical lab experience, with strong English communication and attention to detail. Excellent benefits and growth opportunities available.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• 2+ years of clinical lab experience preferred.
• CLIA-equivalency guidelines may apply.

Responsibilities

• Performs pre-analytical activities including equipment checks, inventory, specimen collection, and space disinfection.
• Post-analytical activities including reporting results and providing technical support.
• Completes tests and analytical procedures according to SOPs.
• Participates in proficiency testing and adheres to regulations.
• May act as a preceptor for orientation and training of new staff.
• Guides technicians and staff, resolving customer service issues and supporting education for clinical staff.
• Follows safety policies including PPE use, handwashing, hazardous waste handling and training.
• Participates in performance improvement activities.
• Evaluates new laboratory techniques and assists with data collection.
• Facilitates workflow and supports clinical staff education.
• Other duties as assigned.
