Job summary

AdventHealth in Orlando, FL is seeking a Laboratory Technician for PRN shifts (Day) with first shift 6:30am-3pm and second shift 2:30pm-11pm to perform pre-analytical and analytical lab duties. The role requires a Bachelor's in chemical/biological/clinical laboratory science or medical technology and a Florida CLIA-equivalency pathway; 2+ years preferred.

Florida license as a Clinical Laboratory Technologist or Supervisor is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in chemical, biological, clinical or medical laboratory science or medical technology from an accredited institution; CLIA equivalency if field of study does not match.
• Florida Clinical Laboratory Technologist (TN)-License OR Clinical Laboratory Supervisor (SU) required.
• 2+ years of clinical lab experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs pre-analytical activities including equipment maintenance, function checks, inventory control, supply stocking, specimen collection, biological specimen processing, cleaning, and disinfection of laboratory equipment and spaces.
• Conducts post-analytical activities related to laboratory testing, including reporting results and providing technical support.
• Completes tests and analytical procedures efficiently and accurately according to established standard operating procedures.
• Participates in proficiency testing, adhering to federal and state regulations and institutional policies.
