Job summary

A leading healthcare facility seeks a Front Office Specialist to ensure the efficient operation of the office, providing excellent customer service while managing appointments and communication with patients. This full-time, onsite role demands a medical office experience and skills in verbal communication along with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.

Job description

Job Description:

  • The essential functions for the Front Office Specialist include but are not limited to the following:
  • Professionally greets and welcomes patients and their family/friends.
  • Schedules appointments for patients in an efficient and timely manner.
  • Answers, screens, and directs all incoming calls to appropriate personnel relaying messages between patients and clinical staff.
  • Checks patients in for their appointments and out after examinations.
  • Records patient cancellations and missed appointments.
  • Collects copays and other balances on patient accounts
  • Scans in variety of forms and daily correspondence.
  • Maintains accurate records and patient charts
  • Calls patients for courtesy reminders of appointments
  • Provides general administrative support.
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Knowledge and understanding of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and Compliance
  • Self- motivated and willing to take on responsibilities and challenges. Seeks better ways to find solutions and offers suggestions for improvement. Maintain production and quality assurance standards
  • Able to use logic and reasoning to evaluate alternative solutions
  • Personable, customer service focused, optimistic and sets a positive tone in all conversations
  • Possesses excellent verbal communication skills. Speaks clearly and persuasively, delivers information in a professional and courteous manner - multitasking
  • Previous experience in medical office required

This is an onsite, full-time position.
The expected pay rate for this role is $18-20/hr.

Hours: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday - 7:30am - 5:00pm (Wednesday and weekends off)
